Shortcuts of the keyboard

Generally it happens that while working on the computer, you may continuously need to switch from mouse to keyboard and vice versa. After some time, this becomes tiring and a difficult and monotonous task to carry out. Also constant switching takes a lot of time. As a result the user may sometimes lose interest in the work. In case you are running short of time and do not want to keep on moving your hands from keyboard to mouse and mouse to keyboard then you must try the shortcuts that are given below. Using these shortcuts you can get ninja work like efficiency and also can increase your productivity. Below are given some useful and most commonly used Key Combinations and their Resulting Actions:

Ctrl+f: this shortcut is used to open the dialog box for the “Find in page”.

Ctrl++:  this option is used to zoom in the required area of the screen for better visibility.

Ctrl+- : this is the opposite of the previous shortcut and carries out Zoom out.

Ctrl+0: this is the default option that is used to return the view to 100%.

Ctrl+p: this is used to print the page or sometimes the selected text only. This can be done by clicking on to the selection.

Alt+Home: this is used to go back to the home page.

Alt+left arrow: this option is used to move back to the previous page.

Alt+right arrow: this is used to navigate to the next or the forward page.

Alt+d: this shortcut is generally used to for the selection of the Address Bar.

Ctrl+e: this is the most widely used option as it is used to select the Search Box.

Alt+Enter: this can be used to open the Search Box results that are present in the new tab.

Ctrl+click: this is used to open the link in a new background tab.

Ctrl+Shift+click: this combination of keys can be used to open the link in a new foreground tab

Ctrl+w: this is generally used to close the current tab

Ctrl+t: using this option one can open the new tab.

Ctrl+n: this is used to open the current tab in a new window.

Ctrl+Tab: this option is used to Switch on to the next tab.

Ctrl+Shift+Tab: this combination can be used to switch on to the previous tab.

F4: this can be used to open the list of all the previously typed URLs in the Address Bar.

F5: this function key is used to refresh the current tab.

F7: this function key can be used to enable and to disable the Caret Browsing that is also known as toggling.

F11: this is used to turn the full-screen mode to on and off. It does not require any type of the toolbars.

It is necessary to use all these key combinations in a wise manner. Once you get in practice of using them in your daily life you can get into speed and can increase your efficiency many fold and of course save your time.

    IE8 is a disaster for any site providing Edit Boxes. The problem relates to getting the point where you clicked and want to insert an image or a table and even worse, it doesn’t know where you clicked if you want to, say, add a column.
    Will this be fixed?
    Does Microsoft care?
    In the meantime all developers can do is recommend older IEs or FireFox
