It’s Cyber Monday: 20 Deals Not To Be Missed

The National Retail Federation brings you the Annual Cyber Celebration, so don’t put those credit cards away. If you are avoiding the Black Friday crowd then don’t worry you will get all the best deals from your office cubicle, kitchen table or from home base.

On this day 90% retailers online will offer free shipping or other rebates as announced at the NRF event as an online shopping bonanza. The list includes some major names of retailers in the technical league.

I have searched the Internet for some of the best deal being offered on Cyber Monday this week. But before to you get engrossed there; do check out our Cyber Monday Introduction from last year’s shopping fest. This primer has a lot of handy suggestions which will help you gain the best deals. Also check out the Holiday Gift Guide published in the PC World for the best deals in technological devices this year.

Get a Play Station 3 for Free!

Yes! You get a 120 GB PlayStation 3 free from Sony Style at the purchase of certain models of Sony Bravia High Definition TVs. According to me the best deal was the 52 inches Sony Bravia Z cum PlayStation deal for $1980, while the cheapest deal was the 46 inches Sony Bravia W with the PlayStation 3 at $1350. Both these HDTVs have the LCD 1080p.


In addition to the Black Friday deals Amazon opens its Lightning section on Cyber Monday too. You can buy the Marvel Alliance 2 for Nintendo Wii for $30.00 only; there is PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, too until 11 a.m. ET. Keep your eyes peeled for the Lightning deal on the Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop with a 15.6 inches screen. The price will be announced at the time when the laptop goes up for sale at 9 a.m. ET.

The 8GB iPod Touch is up for sale on the Amazon, this is the second generation and not the latest model for $158.00 there are many other deals on CDs, video games and DVDs besides the Slingbox Pro HD SB300-100 which is priced at $230.

The Buy of the Day!

The cyber Monday deals by the Big Box displays the Acer Aspire One which boosts an AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core 1.2 GHz processor, 15.6 inches screen, 320 GB hard drive and a 4 GB RAM.

You could also save $10 to $35 on the Apple iPod Selection too. But the best deal of these is the recent model, the 32GB iPod Touch with saves you $30, priced at $270. You can pick a cool deal of Forza Motorsport 3 with a year’s subscription of the Xbox Live worth $73 which saves you $40 besides you can also pick your favourite Halo3: ODST. You could also get a deal in the Samsung 600 Hz 1080p 58 inches Plasma HDTV for $ 1940, the other deal is in the Samsung 1080p LCD 46 inches LCD of 46 inches for $798 only.

The Wal-Mart Deals

Wal-Mart not only offers a Cyber Monday but also a Cyber Week of online sale which is open while the supplies last till the 4th of December. The Nintendo Wii bundle is priced at $249. You get a mega deal in the bundle when you get one game from the 31 titles like the Resident Evil 4 or LEGO Star Wars: Complete Saga, besides the Wii remote wand from Nyko and Nunchuk Controller, Dreamgear 3 in 1 sports kit and a Nintendo Wii Console with the Wii Sport game.

The PlayStation 3 bundle too is available inclusive of two video games, the Batman Arkham Asylum and infamous, the console, the Sony Blu-ray of Dark Knight and Remote besides an additional controller.

The Big Box also offers the video camera model of the 8GB iPod Nano at a bundle price of $145, while Apple sells this appliance for $149. The Wal-Mart bundle includes the 11 – 1 accessory kit which has varied connecting cables and car chargers with the iPod.

You get a bundle of a 12 mega-pixel Kodak EasyShare camera for $ 89 with the Sony Bravia 1080p 46 inches LCD HDTV of $848; all this with a 4GB SDHC card and carrying case for the camera.

Beware of the fine print though as the retailers offer you the iPod Nano bundles with irresistible options which are impossible to resist and you may over-spend your budget.

Go Dell

If you would like to try the Chromium Operating System the beta version operating system that will develop into the Google Chrome Operating System then buy the Dell Mini 10V Netbook which runs on Windows XP and is priced at $279. The Specs are Intel Atom N270 processor, 10.1 inches screen, 160 GB hard drive and 1 GB RAM. To get a customized version of the Chromium OS on the Dell Mini 10V read the PC World’s Geek Tech for the instructions so as to modify your machine on arrival.

The Dell Inspiron 15 priced at $449 and the Studio XPS at $1099 are excellent deals too.

The roaring Tiger Direct

Visit the TigerDirect site and check the 100 cyber Monday offers. There are the LG 1080p 47 inches LCD High Definition TVs for $849.99, overhauled TomTom XL330S GPS units for $90 and retouched Flip Ultra HD video camera which records up to 120 minutes of footage priced at $140.

Check out the Borders

Borders offers a buy one get one 60% off deals on all items till 1st December 2009. But the fine print clarifies that this deal does not include the gift cards, eBooks, Rosetta Stone Software, digital downloads and shipping costs. Enter the promotional code BCM1219B to get the deals.

Get a Sony Vaio VGN-NW250F/S and you get a 16GB Zune HD free.

Free or Cheap shipping

All the deals offer cheap or free shipping offers by the online retailers, yet these are the highlights. If your purchase is less than $100 then Apple offers free shipping for 6 days out of the total shipping time from Monday till 10 a.m. Pacific time on 23rd December. There is free ground shipping for all Sony Style products and free shipping on orders over $25 and above offered by Best Buy.

If you are a shopaholic then keep an eye on the eBay. The site offers Green Monday which is an online auction site with amazing holiday deals. It is expected that this year too, the company will schedule an eBay celebration on Monday, the 7th December. eBay commenced the celebration in the year 2007 and the 2nd Green Monday had superseded all sales on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
