Microsoft Office 2010 – Service Pack 1 Released

Microsoft has finally released Microsoft office 2010 service pack 1 to the public. This is recognized as the first stable release of Microsoft office 2010. According to the developers, the new version of Microsoft has all the public updates from June to April 2010 and contains many stability fixes that maximize user’s comfort whilst using the applications.

The set of applications that are most used in the Office package are Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft FrontPage. The new service pack 1 has updates for PowerPoint and Word that are highly noticeable. There is also a repair that was done to a problem that caused Microsoft Word to crash suddenly and close on its own.

The update that caught the eye of many users was the Google Chrome browser support by Microsoft’s Office SP1. The browser can now open office documents whilst browsing.

Adding to these there are many more improvements such as Snooze time resets in Office outlook, community content availability in Access Part Gallery. In addition to these, there is a new feature that allows users to use Edit Mode in Word Web in the printing menu.

To get a copy of the new Microsoft Office service pack 1, users can update the version that they already have, or download the whole set of the application all over. The First technique of updating is more recommended as Microsoft will first detect what the user’s version of the software requires and then update. For the second method of downloading, the user’s version will not be checked. The downloads of the package provided by Microsoft is virus free- it was scanned by using the most up-to-date virus scanner up to the day of upload.
