Free Editor

A PC owner does encounter various formats of file that are lengthy in nature.  Viewing them all could take a complete software library. Some of the file formats are PDFs, video, audio, ebooks, images, office etc. Use of Free Editor software can help to open office documents like doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, odt, image formats like PSD, TIFF, RAW, ICO, archives, video files, audio files, PDFs, ePubs, RTF, plain text, binaries, source code and much more.

The program was not successful at initial tests conducted. The software failed to open some PDFs that were large. With one test PSD conducted, it crashed and word documents that were complex were formatted wrongly. The editing abilities of the program were limited. So editing of PDF’s is not possible. Video and Audio files are only for playing purpose. Image Editor include basic features such as resize and crop tools, adjustment of brightness / contrast, rotate, resize, tag editing in simple form.

For text based documents, free editor is considered to be the best. There are other options like lists, tables, images, options, indents, paragraph settings, images and more. Spreadsheet is the basic without any formula bar, charts. You can even formula in the cell directly even though it is not a formula bar. You can even edit, create, view, format and edit / enter data too.

Another advantage is that you could save file in another format, although sometimes it does not work as we expect. PDFs can be saved as PDFs only.  Image exports are limited to formats like PNG, TGA, TIFF, GIF, BMP. Word documents are saved in formats like DOCX, DOC, RDF, RTF, TXT having no PDF.

Unexpected extras are also available. Hex Editor is a simple binary resource editor for files  and source code editor with syntax that highlights for some languages. Free Editor have been revealed some shortcomings. When we wanted to create a Word document, it was found under files – no file was available. By pressing CTR + N, some files were ignored and program crashed if we tried with images.

Despite of these problems, Free Editor can open files that cannot handle formats like PSD, EPUB, TIFF, various RAWs. Some viewers who are specialists do give the best results but as a last resort you can try Free Editor.
